Amyntaion is a region known for its wines, which are characterized of superior quality (appelation d’origine de qualite superieure). It is located in a plateau, with a medium height of 600 - 700 m. in ideal climate conditions for the cultivation of Xinomavro, the most dynamic of Greek grapes, which reins the area of Amyntaion.
The winery of Amyntaion Co-op is situated in Amyntaio. Xynomavro is the variety which prevails in the region. The winery produces white, rose and red table and V.Q.P.R.D. wines, as well as sparkling wines. The only sparkling rose wine in the country is produced here.
During the visit, visitors are informed about the history of the Co-operative in Amindeo and the winery, and get familiar with the production and aging process of wines at one of the wine-vaults inside the winery. Moreover, visitors have the opportunity to try the Union’s wines under the guidance of the winery’s enologist and buy their favourite wines.
