You will have the opportunity to accompany your wine with the famous “kasseri” cheese from the small country town of Sochos.
Arvanitidis S.A. is situated at an altitude of 500 m in the village of Askos in Thessalonica, in a privately owned estate with a surface area of 3 hectares. The local ecosystem favours the production of delicate, complex and balanced wines based on the principle of organic viticulture.

The Open Gates programme and the member wineries of the Attica Vineyards Winemakers Association
On the weekend of 16-17 May 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m., the sixteen member wineries of the Attica Vineyards Winemakers Association are opening their gates for the fourth consecutive year and inviting (Attican) wine lovers to tour the wineries and taste their choice wines.
The admission to the member wineries of the Attica Vineyards Winemakers Association is free for the weekend of 16 and 17 May. Moreover, there will be a 20 % discount on each bottle of wine purchased. The sum of 1 euro from the sale of each bottle of wine will be allocated to a charity whose name will soon be announced.

The Open Gates programme and the winery Katogi Averoff
An interesting guided visit to the winery Katogi Averoff is organized in the small country town of Metsovo on the weekend of 16 and 17 May 2009 from 10.00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. The event is part of the programme “Open Gates”. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the winery and taste wines.
Moreover, on Saturday 16 May 2009, the wine bar of the winery, which is opening for the first time, will welcome its guests from 18.00 p.m. to 23.00 p.m. with choice wines and much music. It should be noted that those who will participate in the “Open Gates” programme will enjoy a 30% discount on the accommodation rates of the Katogi Averoff Hotel from Friday 15 May to Sunday 17 May 2009.
