The Horse Riding Centre Kamatriades is situated at the mountain Theletrio, in Kamatriades, a quiet village that contains about 100 inhabitants.
Started in 1996 as a small business, were today, younger and older people feel the centre like home. Not only have to ride horsed but it is also possible to cycle, walk, test your cross talents or just do nothing and enjoy the view and natural silence. It is the perfect place to escape the daily routine. “Recharge your batteries”.
Tassos and Kristie help adults and youngsters to learn how to love, understand and ride horses. The main activity is horseback riding. The12 horses are capable for starters and professional amazons.
There are also mini-goats, a stag and deer, chickens, cats, dogs and a peacock who like to be cuddled.
Starters get to know the basics on short trips under supervision. On request you can also have a horseback riding lessons. Professionals can go for big trips in the surroundings. And also daytrips can be organised, very special are the trips during full moon.
Also there are uncountable walking paths, mountain bike routes and cross routes. We have different all terrain vehicles. Even swimming is no problem, knowing the nearest beach is 15 minutes by car.
In the centre’s café, after 9.00 am (nobody has to wake early), you can enjoy a various breakfast with homemade marmalade and fresh eggs from our chickens.
Throughout the day you can enjoy different coffees, herbal teas or homemade nut cake. Or you can just enjoy the view from the terrace with a good glass of local house wine or a "tsipouro" (made of our grapes cultivated in organic way), with good tasting "mezedes" (different snacks).
Dream away in the evening with a nice drink in front of the open fire in winter time or relax on the terrace in summertime, counting the lights of Istea. Don’t think of one day, you can stay over as long as you like in one of the nine double rooms (some rooms can be used as triple or four person rooms). All rooms have a bathroom, refrigerator, television and especially... an amazing view!
Prices are between 50 and 65 euros per night.
For years the centre works also with volunteers. You have to be 18 years old, a matter of responsibility. Most people are starters and they try to teach them in a responsible way how to ride and care for horses. You get free room and board.
